Q: Does the plugin work for tablets – like the iPad?
A: Yes! We’ve gotten enough requests to add tablet redirection, that we have implemented this into the plugin. You can now set a different URL for every page & post if you’d like your visitor redirected to a special URL when coming to your website from a tablet.
Q: What is the “Automatic Override” feature and how does it work?
A: The automatic override allows you to set a period of time that a user who clicks on the “view desktop website” to continue seeing the desktop version of your website when they visit your website.
For example, if a website visitor comes to your website on a mobile device and visits page A, if they click link B and there is a dedicated mobile page for page B, they will automatically be redirected to the dedicated mobile page. But, if they click the “view desktop website” on page A and then click a link for page B, they will again be transferred to the dedicated mobile page for page B. But, if you setup a automatic override period they will continue to see the desktop website as they’ve requested. So, if set the automatic override for 1 day, then once the website visitor clicks the “view desktop website” link they will continue to see the desktop website for 1 day – since they made the request to view the desktop website and not the mobile website. This gives your website visitors a better user experience since they won’t be jumping back and forth between mobile and desktop websites. The better a user experience, they better chance of converting them into a sale, lead, subscriber, etc.
Q: Can the page I redirect the visitor to be on the same wordpress installation?
A: Yes, the redirect will work even if the redirect URL is on the same wordpress installation! Just make sure you don’t have a redirect set for the mobile page on your wordpress installation or else your website visitor will get stuck in a redirect loop.
